We are not called “Hiking Village Gries” for nothing. There are many options for beginners and advanced hikers here in Ötztal. Simply relax and enjoy our circular hiking trail or climb the Schrankogel at 3,497 metres. With idyllic views of Gries and the Sulztal valley.
P.S.: When the sun rises over the Winnebachspitze, you should already be (almost) at the summit.

Numerous tours of varying degrees of difficulty make Gries and the entire Ötztal a perfect holiday destination on two wheels for mountain bikers and relaxed e-bikers. The hut, which is open all year round, can be reached from Gries via a well-marked goods road. Other tours from the hut: Schönrinnenkarsee, Gamskogel.

From Gries, first along the fields and then on a well-marked farm track to the Vordere Sulztalalm. Ideal for families with children due to its length.

From Gries, first walk along the fields and then on a well-marked farm track, past the front and rear Sulztalalm, to the Ambergerhütte. From the terrace you can enjoy a marvellous view of the Sulztalferner. It is also the starting point for summit tours to the Schrankogel, Hinterer Daunkogel, Kuhscheibe and many more.

to the Winnebachseehütte

The hut can first be reached from Gries via a well-marked hiking trail. There is a small idyllic lake next to the hut. Other tours from the hut: Gänsekragen, Breiter Grieskogel, transition to the Gubener Schweinfurter Hütte.
